Mobile Chrome AdBlock

Block ads in Chrome on Android and iPhone. Pick whichever option suits you.

Android, recommended

Android app

Blocks about 400,000 ad and tracker domains right on your phone. No account, no server, works offline.

  1. Download AdBlock.apk
  2. Open the file. If Android asks, allow your browser to install apps.
  3. Open AdBlock and tap Turn on.

You can also add the AdBlock tile to Quick Settings to switch it on and off from the notification shade.

iPhone, easiest

iPhone profile (no app)

Switches your iPhone to AdGuard's free ad-blocking DNS. Takes 30 seconds.

  1. Open this page in Safari and tap:
    Download profile
  2. Go to Settings, tap Profile Downloaded, then Install.
  3. Chrome and every other app now skip ads.

To turn it off, remove the profile in Settings, General, VPN, DNS & Device Management.

iPhone, advanced

iPhone app (IPA)

Blocks ads on the phone itself, like the Android app. Apple only lets VPN-type apps run when signed with a paid Apple developer account, so you need one to install it (with Sideloadly, AltStore or Xcode).

Download AdBlock.ipa
Android, terminal

Termux

Install the command:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/TYFSADIK/mobile-chrome-adblock/main/termux/adblock -o $PREFIX/bin/adblock && chmod +x $PREFIX/bin/adblock

Then adblock on, adblock off or adblock status to control the app. On a rooted phone, adblock root-on blocks ads with Termux alone.

Any phone, self-hosted

Your own server

Run the blocker on a VPS and point all your family's phones at it.
